"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18)

Sweetness...
Each year I make a book for each of them with a collection of most of their photos taken that year. They LOVE those books! It doesn't matter how many times they look at them...they still come back for more. Yep, narcissism comes naturally to all of us! LOL.

I spy with my little eye...
I thought it might be fun to experiment with a different perspective. The girls were enjoying the new bench swing G-Pa hung, so I hid behind a tree and played with some framing. I kinda like it, but not entirely sure. I do however like how natural they are since they were just doing their own thing and not paying attention to me.
Tomorrow I'll post a shot that will show what they were looking at.

Posers...
We actually had a dry sunny day last week, so we stepped outside to enjoy it. Hannah decided that I needed to take their picture here at the new planting bed Bob made. On her own, she put her arm around Abigail. Abigail appeared to be pushing her away....which wouldn't be surprising for Miss Sassy Pants...but, in the end we realized she was just struggling to get her arm around Hannah as well. So sweet. Love that they decided on their own pose.

Jump!
And then we went for the splash. Of course, Hannah's new boots are about two sizes too big. She was not real happy that the water sloshed down inside her boot and got her socks wet. But she's learning that it's OK. Grammy has a dryer and an extra pair of dry socks to wear in the meantime. Silly girl!

When the weather just refuses to cooperate...
We've had TONS of rainy Grammy Days lately, so we just decided to quit fighting it. They put on their rain boots and we went looking for puddles. LOVE the reflections...

Classic Hannah in black and white...
I usually try to weed out photos that are too similar. Our hard drives are full enough of photos...we don't need 50 that are nearly identical. However...once in a while, I shoot a sequence that I really love...with only small changes in expression. And this is one of them...
This was actually shot as I was checking my camera settings. She was just waiting and thinking about who knows what. It makes me giggle.
I'm trying VERY hard to avoid the posed pics....so other than asking her to sit on the step, I did not ask her to look at me or to smile. Instead, I engaged her in a silly conversation about what we should have for lunch. Each of these pics is in response to my question.
Monkey feet?
Caterpillar toes?
Butterfly antennae?
Acorns with a side salad of dandelions?
Grammy....You are SILLY!
I need to try to come up with more silly conversations, because this worked like a charm....so many natural smiles and each of these captures the essence of Hannah.

Following directions...sort of....
On the way home, I asked her if she would walk to those two trees. Love how she looks like she's dancing...
When I asked if she'd hide behind the tree, she surprised me with this! lol. So out of character...but I love it. Silly girl! And I especially love that Abigail and Jenny are walking in the background....didn't discover that till I downloaded.

Sniff test...
Love her "stink face" here...It's what you get when you ask a 3 year old if she can smell the flowers.

Walk to the college...
Love, love how green everything is right now. Lots and lots of gloomy weather...so this was another cloudy day, but we enjoyed our walk to the college. Both girls LOVE to walk...and the duck watching is fun too.
