"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18)

Wonderful world of color...

I love these shots...top is Hannah and bottom is Abigail...I can't help focusing in on the little details, because they won't be small like this for long. BTW...neither of the girls like to get dirty.  Feeding themselves depends on their ability to do it neatly.  If it's too messy...forget it.  So we are intentionally introducing some activities that let them know it's OK to make a little mess!  You can tell they're still pretty dainty about it!  lol

Preschool Picassos...

We've had mild temperatures so far this summer, so we decided to set up the easel outdoors and let them have some fingerpaint and chalk fun.  I love these two shots....They were having a great time creating and clearly concentrating on their work.   The swimsuits are because it was our plan to hose 'em off and let them run through the sprinklers for clean up.  Easy peasy...

It's uncomfortable...

It's uncomfortable being on this side of the lens, but I'm grateful to Jenny for getting a snap of me with the girls.  I want them to remember I don't ALWAYS have a camera up to my face!  They are so precious...

Yet more lessons to learn...

Someday...someday I will remember to close down when my subjects are not both on the same focal plane.  Love the expressions...but only Abigail is in focus.  Sigh.  Guess I shouldn't get greedy.

Sweetness...

Just love how they posed for this one...it's so rare to get eye contact AND smiles AND hand holding.  They LOVE the new garden G-Pa created, especially their kid sized bench!

bubble tag...

She had so much fun!

Thick as thieves...

I loved this spontaneous interaction.  I think they were doing "noses" with their bubble wands....especially love the expressions in the first pic.

Lessons learned...

This is a good example of why autofocus doesn't always work.  In this case with my wide aperture and SO many bubbles, autofocus grabbed the bubbles instead of the kids.  i still kinda like it though....except of course for cutting off their feet.  Arg.

When the soap gets in your eyes...

She started like this...

But by the end was like Annie Oakley!

A rabbit tale, pt. 2

He watched me for a while but when I didn't move, he ventured closer under the holly...

Then burrowed under and deposited his twigs...

One last look at me....

And then, he was gone....but not for good.  He repeated this scenario several times while I watched him...which means that tomorrow I need to chase him off if I see him.  We don't particularly want baby bunnies nesting in our yard, as cute as they are.  We don't want them to make meals of all the nice new plants Bob put in!

A rabbit tale...

We had a little visitor in our garden the other day...

He or she was gathering dead foliage from our Asian Jasmine (which took a real hit this winter)...

This is BARELY cropped at all and I was only shooting with a 105mm lens with my full frame camera, which does not bring you as close to your subject as a cropped sensor camera.  He could not have been more than about 6 feet away.

Teamwork...

The kite was cool but, for me, the real action was happening on the ground!  Sweetness...

Let's go fly a kite!

I love watching them enjoy new experiences for the first time!

I dare you not to sing the song now...
