"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18)

Bunnies and their eggs....

Love Hannah's smile here!  She got tickled and kept saying "bunny eggs"!

Pretty pastels....

Everyone seems to use plastic eggs filled with candy nowadays, but we still had fun with some good old fashioned egg coloring.

 Watching the colors fizz....

 Wow...such pretty colors....

Wish I could have gotten closer to this little guy...so cute in his tuxedo!

Dogwood....

I THINK it's dogwood...not entirely sure.  It's near the end of its bloom too, but still...pretty.

It's all relative...

It's not the greatest photo....it's not even the most beautiful flower.  But when you've been looking out the window at dreary grey and brown all winter, this kind of color is such a treat!

Frame it...

A little framing practice.  Columbine through our lattice.  I can't decide if I like it.  Ha ha.

Finally....long awaited spring...

It did my heart so much good to see bits of color in the neighborhood.

By the lake...

Abigail refused to turn around...most likely because of the wind...or because she's TWO.  lol

And Hannah is making her "brrrr....it's cold" face!!

Wagon ride...

It was windy and cloudy that day, but we still enjoyed a walk to the college and a ride in the wagon.  Sometimes G-Pa even ran!  It is wonderful and therapeutic to see all the green!

Posing 101, Pt. 3..

This is the last of my posing practice for that day.  I like these angles too...particularly both arms away from the body.  I think the shoulders are a bit too high to look completely relaxed tho', but we're getting there.  I am still very limited in my movement, so I didn't try getting low for any shots.  We'll have to practice again when my body is feeling more cooperative.  Many thanks to Jenny for modeling!

Posing 101, Pt. 2

Still working on posing.  Trying to learn as much as I can so I can get better shots the FIRST time.  I agree with this idea of moving the arm away from the body, but can see two things that bother me in this one.  The angle of the arm is too close to 90 degrees, which he suggests creates an almost aggressive feel which draws attention away from the face.  And the visible hand has the fingers spread a bit too wide, suggesting tension.  And since it is closest to the camera, it appears larger.  I can see that I need to practice/practice/practice.

Posing 101...

I purchased an ebook recently about posing and Jenny was kind enough to help me experiment with angles.  Typically I take a bunch of different pics and hope I get lucky.  I don't always know exactly why I choose the ones I do or why they work.  This author/photographer is very analytical about various angles and made some great points about what to look for before shooting.  I haven't gotten to the chapters about facial expression or hands yet.  Ha ha.  At any rate, I appreciate this photographer's insight about angles that flatter and slim (not that Jenny needs it...ha ha!).  Here we were specifically working on keeping at least one arm away from the body, creating space, so you can see the natural waist.  And we've also been working on lengthening the spine and neck.  So, what do you think?  Does it work?

That is the question...

What is she thinking about?  That is the question...  Love those baby blues.

Let them play...

And sometimes I get the best shots when I just let her do her own thing.  Completely natural smile here.  Love how those little flowers on her top frame her face.

Pure sweetness...

Isn't she precious?   I am just a teensy bit biased.   Ha ha!  H was not so sure she wanted to do pictures that afternoon but when Jenny said they could go in her 5 year old memory book, she changed her mind.  She was actually really cooperative.  I try not to ask her to smile because when I do, I get pure cheese.  But she is beginning to let me place her hands or make other small suggestions.  I actually love this...classic Hannah.

Muse...

A sneak peek of photos from our last Grammy Day.  Hands down my favorite of my little muse. I'm still healing from my broken bum, but managed to get a few photos edited this weekend.  I will parcel them out one at a time, even if they are of the same subject just to keep the blog going.  lol
