"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18)

And in black and white...

Found an acorn!

 So thoughtful...

Not sure what captured her attention, but I love her sweet smile.

Favorite spot...

I naturally had to visit my favorite spot for portraits...It's secluded and usually shaded and I love the texture of the rock.  H is looking mighty grown up these days!

Tree huggers...

The girls enjoy walking and tree hugging...and we even had a nice picnic!

Two peas in a pod...

We visited the Arboretum together a few weeks ago.  It was a beautiful day and the cherry blossoms were at their peak bloom, which meant it was ridiculously crowded.  No wide angle shots.  And when I'm with the littles, there is no time to shoot flowers.  In the bottom pic, they are people watching.  I find it humorous that their bodies are mirroring each other.  Two peas in a pod.

If all else fails...

Give them a prop.  I'm so over posed pictures with the littles.  It's TOO DARN HARD to get them to look at me.  Their eyes flit to me for a millisecond and then they are looking in another direction.  I swear, they think they are looking when they are not.  If they weren't so communicative on every other level, I would wonder if they had autism.  Ha ha.  Eye contact, what's that?  They had fun with my little pinwheels though, which were spinning like mad in the wind.  So, for a while anyway, I am going to try to concentrate on candids and connections instead of eye contact.

And once again...

Turns out the secret trick works with daddies too!

New trick....

As disappointed as I was in the technical side of things, I was happy to learn a new trick that seemed to work well for shooting littles.  I asked Jenny to tell Hannah a secret and got these sweet expressions.  Definitely gonna try that again!  I think these two shots were my favorites!

Finally spring in Texas...and you know what that means!

Bluebonnet pics!

I'm not too happy with how these turned out.  We've had tons of cloudy weather lately and I was thinking we were lucky for a sunny day near golden hour.  But this was a small patch of bluebonnets in a residential area...so crummy backgrounds on all sides...had to shoot close.  Another family was breathing down our neck for our spot, so I felt rushed.  The wind was CRAZY, so we were forced into backlit pics only....so you either get underexposed people or overexposed backgrounds.  Enough excuses.  I'm having a moment (or several) of frustration with myself and my limited skill.  I need to shoot more in all kinds of situations to gain confidence and skill.

Just realized it's been almost 6 weeks since I've posted anything and the last pics were of snow.  LOL.  I have other photos to post that were taken earlier than the bluebonnet pics, but I'm still working on them.  Ha ha!
