Dallas World Aquarium...

A few weeks ago my niece Jean came to visit us from Arizona. Yay! We had a great time visiting the Dallas World Aquarium. I didn't get many pics, because it was so dark and CROWDED indoors. But I'll post a couple today and tomorrow. We loved the jaguar and I thought this turned out pretty well for being behind glass.
I loved watching the octopus with its florescent colors and creeping movement. Thought it might be cool to try a slow exposure to capture the movement. Kinda cool...And SOOC (straight out of the camera)...no enhancing those amazing colors.

Under the surface...

Just for fun...my first underwater shot this season. Can't really do too much of that with Hannah, because she doesn't go under yet. lol.

We're happy to announce...

We could not be any more thrilled! Doctors didn't think Hannah was possible and now to be given a second blessing...there are no good words. I'm sure Hannah has no idea how much her world is going to change. Or the rest of us, for that matter! :) Due date is Jan. 11 which will put Hannah and baby 25 mo. apart. I'm laughing at myself because one of the first things I got excited about is my opportunity for a "do-over" on newborn shots and the possibility of artistic belly shots of Jenny. I bought my camera the day before Hannah was born and all I knew how to do was point and shoot on auto. This should be fun! and not just for pics. lol.

Daisy, Daisy...

Shot for the challenge of "opposite". Several opposites going on here...focused/blurry, black/white, top/bottom, right/left, big/small, etc. Overkill...I know. I shot this on a piece of black foam board with a second black piece behind. In post processing, I added an Coffee Shop action called "back drop fix" which helped make the black truly black. I used the same action frequently for white backdrops too. It works really well to get a very crisp black or white.

Swimsuit model...

I'm SO glad I bought that little lawn chair for Hannah. She just loves it and it provides a place for her to sit relatively still for pictures. lol. She's working on her molars so those fingers are spending more time in her mouth lately.

Still a very happy girl!!

The Red Shoes...

Shot for the challenge "fairy tale or fable". Have you ever read "The Red Shoes"? Don't read it before bed, cause it will give you nightmares. I can't believe some of the things written in stories presumably for children. lol. This is kind of a quirky shot, but I still like it. Kara was shopping and saw the shoes and wanted them for herself, but they didn't have her size. Sweet kid tho'....since they had them in my size, she brought them home for me. :)Part of what I like here is the subtle texture in the shoes against the marbled tile. Of course, there are also the veins in my feet....but lets not go there. lol.
